We’re really community minded at Scottish Express, so we put aside 5% of each years transport income into a fund . We use this fund to help sell adventure transport packages, with all fares going straight back to a charitable organizations bank account!!

We are super happy to announce that, this year, our 5% Strategy Fund will be supporting the great work that goes on at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary
Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is Nelson’s 690ha predator-proof haven—the South Island’s largest fenced sanctuary—protecting rare kiwi, tuatara, kākāriki karaka, and beech forest through 15km of tracks, guided tours, and vital conservation work just 5km from the city.

Transport Fund
Who has our fund already supported?
In 2024 we set aside the fund “5% Strategy fund” for the Bike Hub Nelson. In May 2025 we used the fund to help create an Auction for Bike Hub Nelson for an exclusive Ghost Road Package. Why was the package so awesome?…. Because other like minded businesses got together to essentially supersize the Package.
The Old Ghost road, Off the beaten trail accommodation and Real meals all chipped in to make the package all inclusive of food and accommodation both on and off the trail. This package got auctioned off on Trade me and put $2500 straight back in the pockets of Bike Hub Nelson. You can read more about the Auction here
Over 2025/2026 we set aside our transport for the Fifeshire foundation. This just ended on the 31st of March and we are really happy to have set aside $ 2,464.50 in the fund for them. What happens next with this fund… we sit down with the Fifeshire FOundation at Yazza Cafe and fueled by cheese scones and coffee we’ll come up with an exciting idea to turn this transport into a cash injection straight into the foundations bank account… keep your eyes on this space for more details
