This private package books the entire vehicle for up to 9 passengers and begins with MakeShift Spaces’ immersive A Bridge Too Far Pick Path audio guide on Bridge Street, before we shuttle you up to Maungatapu Saddle in our 4WD vehicle for the one-hour climb.
From the saddle, set out on your self-guided walk down the historic Maungatapu Track, passing Murderers’ Rock and following the route where the Burgess Gang ambushed their victims in 1866. Moderate fitness is required for the downhill 4WD track, with stream crossings, native bush, and sweeping Bryant Range views along the way as you descend to Pelorus Valley over 2–3 hours.
